Almost four years ago, I lost one of my best friends and closest confidants, Tami. She was the owner of a company called Modern Title, and the name Modern has held deep meaning for me ever since. Tami wasn’t just a friend — she was a mentor, a champion of women in business, and a beacon of support when I needed it most.
At the time we reconnected, I had just left a full-time job I loved at a digital marketing company. My son had recently been diagnosed with epilepsy, and navigating his health needs meant stepping away from the structure and security of a traditional role. That season was one of the hardest of my life — filled with fear, uncertainty, and the pressure of trying to figure out my next steps.
Tami didn’t hesitate. She brought me into her world at Modern Title, teaching me how to do title closings part-time. But more than that, she reminded me of my worth. She saw value in my marketing skills and quickly brought me on as her marketing specialist. I had the honor of designing Modern Title’s website, managing their social media, and helping shape their brand — all while rebuilding my confidence and redefining my professional path.
Tami didn’t stop at offering me a role — she offered me opportunity. She would refer me to anyone looking for website or social media help, championing my work and helping me build the foundation of what would eventually become my own business. She believed in me when I needed it most — and that belief still fuels everything I do today.
